Secular community builders and storytellers face unique challenges. Too often we stay quiet, because speaking up is risky. We risk having “that” conversation with our parents. We risk a social media dog pile. We risk losing friends and our support network. Sometimes, we even risk physical violence. But, some people take those risks and share their truth… only to be buried by algorithms.

But YOUR VOICES ARE POWERFUL! Gen Z is the least religious generation ever. They have questions, they’re building identity, and they’re hunting for community. But they’re also doing battle with the algorithm. They’re sifting through angry, engagement bait and ads disguised as “genuine” content. Authenticity is massive.

The Next Phase Project works in this gap by amplifying your voice. We help to connect secular creators, secular nonprofits, and young people who are questioning or leaving their religion. We work with creators to frame their truth using cognitive science. We’re also relationship builders: We start dialogues between nonprofits and creators, and we help creators to network with each other. We help generate content ideas and larger campaign concepts. We offer paid promotional support for authentic, powerful content. Finally, we offer limited support for acute needs faced by creators or nonprofits. This includes support for website modernization, brand refinement, and tech (think microphones or cameras).
